^{Growing up in Durham, I raced to the end of the driveway each Sunday morning to retrieve the Durham Morning Herald (now The Herald-Sun), not to read the comics, but to check out the Homes for Sale section and ask my parents if we could go to an open house. Certainly my $20 monthly allowance wouldn't be enough to purchase a home, so why the unusual interest in real estate at such a young age? I may not have realized it was my calling at the time, but looking back, the memories of intently studying floor plans, drawing real estate company signs on construction paper, and picking out the best house on each row of those shown in the paper every week, I have to think this is what I'm supposed to be doing.}

^{Now years later, with a bachelor's degree from UNC-Greensboro (Go Spartans!) and a successful career history as a corporate trainer for a national property management firm, I've expanded my career to include real estate sales.
